Job Summary

Alfa Insurance is looking for a motivated Tax Staff Accountant to join our team! In this role, you’ll ensure the timely and accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information for Alfa companies. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your accounting career with a trusted industry leader while gaining hands-on experience in tax compliance and financial reporting.

Responsibilities 
  • Prepare, record, report and/or analyze moderately complex internal and external financial information in compliance with applicable accounting guidance, regulatory requirements and rating agency guidelines, within an appropriate control environment.
  • Reconcile and/or review moderately complex general ledger accounts, identify and assess the appropriate accounting treatment for moderately complex transactions.
  • Initiate and provide quality customer service by supporting the budget process, special projects and other units.
  • Support the review and evaluation of transactions generated by others for compliance with appropriate accounting standards and efficiency of ledger processes. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (or equivalent) degree with a focus in Accounting
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Understanding of computer applications including: Excel and Word
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, as needed
